Dr Christophe Persad is currently Registrar (Ag) in Internal Medicine and Rheumatology at the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex in Trinidad. After winning a National Open Scholarship he completed his undergraduate medical training at University College London, where he also earned a BSc in Neuroscience. He then returned to Trinidad and has since completed his Membership of the Royal College of Physicians (UK) as well as a Postgraduate Certificate in Gastroenterology and the Specialty Certificate Exams in Acute Medicine and Rheumatology.

He is actively engaged in rheumatology research in Trinidad and hopes to soon further his studies in the UK.
